Zozo Sapountzakis

In the fifth episode of the #OLYTALKS series, Zozo Sapundzaki looks back on her long career, talks about the emotions she felt on the stage of the Olympia theater and of course, reminds us of the "Apachides of Athens", singing!

Zozo Sapountzakis, excited the audience appearing as a guest in the successful show "The Apaches of Athens". The operetta by Nikos Hadziapostolou outlines perhaps the most popular ethnography of an entire era: images from the urban and popular Athens of the interwar period become the setting for the comic love adventures of a "leaner", a "tramp of the cities", but also the occasion to some of the most beloved songs of the genre are written. Vassilis Mavrogeorgiou directed the Olympia production, guiding the steps of a multitude of excellent performers, who swirl delightfully in the wake of a Viennese musical feast. On the occasion of her historic presence there, Zozo Sapundzaki returns to the Olympia Theater and expresses her feelings.

Pierre Dumoussaud

In the fourth episode of the #OLYTALKS series, chief musician Pierre Dumoussaud talks about his path in music, the sacrifices he had to make for his career, and his relationship with Athens.

Pierre Dumoussaud was at the Olympia Theater for the last performance of the season, the opera "Penelope" presented in concert form. It is the only opera by the French composer Gabriel Fauré, with a libretto by René Fauchois, which was presented for the first time in Greece. The State Orchestra of Athens, as part of its collaboration with Olympia, the Choir of the Municipality of Athens as well as a multitude of brilliant French and Greek performers brought the Homeric heroes to life, musically directed by Pierre Dumoussaud.

Svetlina Stoyanova

In the third episode of the #OLYTALKS series, the internationally renowned mezzo-soprano Svetlina Stoyanova talks about her journey in the world of opera, the most important moments of her career, her dreams for the future and of course the emotions she experienced at the Olympia Theatre.

Svetlina Stoyanova starred in the iconic comic opera Cinderella, which combines the musical wit of Gioachino Rossini and the libretto of Jacopo Ferretti. In fact, Rodoula Gaitanou's original direction moved the action to the microcosm of an off-Broadway theater in New York, in the 1930s, during the "Great Depression" and the financial crash. A production that gave us four magical evenings at the Olympia Theatre.
